Dr. Maryjane Farr, was elected to a four-year leadership term at UNOS
Dr. Maryjane Farr, Medical Director of Adult Heart Transplantation at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Associate Professor of Medicine in the Seymour, Paul and Gloria Division of Cardiology at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, was recently elected to a four-year leadership term at United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) for all solid organ transplants in Region 9. She will serve two years as Associate Councilor, which includes a seat on the Membership and Professional Standards Committee at UNOS, followed by two years as Councilor and a seat on the Board of Directors for UNOS, which oversees the organ donation and transplantation system in the U.S. Dr. Farr will begin her term on July 1st and will represent Region 9, which consists of 16 transplant centers, four organ procurement organizations, 11 histocompatibility laboratories and three voluntary health organizations in New York State and Western Vermont.
