Columbia Faculty at CTO 2025
Columbia interventionalists are proud to play a pivotal role at the upcoming CTO Plus: Complex CTO & Higher Risk PCI conference, hosted by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF). This global event brings together the world’s leading interventional cardiologists, researchers, and industry experts to explore the latest advancements to treat completely blocked heart arteries—a condition known as chronic total occlusion (CTO).
Columbia’s Role at CTO Conference
Our team is set to engage in a variety of sessions—from dynamic live-case demonstrations to in-depth research presentations and interactive panel discussions. Directors of the CTO conference include Columbia’s own, Drs. Margaret McEntegart, Ajay Kirtane, and Jeffrey Moses.
Top Highlights:
- Live Case Transmissions: This year marks a milestone with the first-ever international live case transmissions, expanding the conference’s global reach. The schedule includes six live cases from NewYork-Presbyterian/ Columbia University Medical Center, transmitted to the conference venue at the Marriott.
- Future of CTO Research: The conference will conclude with presentations of eight cutting-edge abstracts selected for their impact and potential to shape the field in the coming year.
- Global Collaboration: CTO has long been a field shaped by international collaboration. Columbia faculty will be working closely with the team from Japan to learn and discuss new techniques, such as the Tip detection–antegrade dissection and re-entry (TD-ADR). A technique used to treat CTO using intravascular ultrasound to guide the puncture of a guidewire into a lesion.
