Columbia Cardiologists Named Top Doctors
Every year, the Top Doctors issue of New York Magazine provides what many consider to be the most reliable measure of clinical excellence for New York City area providers. And once again, cardiologists from Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital are exceptionally well-represented, with 41 current faculty members making the celebrated listing.
The magazine issue features Castle Connolly’s Top Doctor Directory, a popular resource for patients to find a doctor by specialty, location, condition, or treatment. The directory is provided by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a research and information company and leading partner for top doctor features in national and regional magazines.

Castle Connolly Top Doctors are selected by sending thousands of nomination forms to medical professionals throughout New York City, Westchester County, Long Island, and parts of New Jersey and western Connecticut.
The nominees are then screened by Castle Connolly’s physician-led research team. The selection process considers a broad array of criteria, including professional reputation, education, faculty appointments, research, and even interpersonal and patient interaction skills.
By not accepting payment from providers to be considered or featured, Castle Connolly Top Doctors claims to “offer an unbiased directory consumers can rely on.” Considered by many to be the standard for local provider comparison, the survey provides a valuable free resource for New Yorkers trying to find the best care for themselves and their families.
